Mini-Med 2017 focuses on children’s health.
Raising children to be healthy – physically, cognitively, socially and emotionally – is critical for their development and future well-being. That is why it is so important to dedicate this year’s Mini-Med series to children’s health.
Why should you care? Currently, one in three Canadian children is overweight or obese. Excess weight is linked to the risk of developing chronic diseases such as Type 2 diabetes as well as poor emotional health and diminished social well-being.
What will you learn? Gain valuable insights and the latest scientific research about children’s health issues that are guiding programs, practises, policies and environments so that it is easier for parents, grandparents, teachers and caregivers to raise our kids to be healthy and happy.
